She was the daughter of Edward Daly and Catherine O'Meara.
She was a member of Cumann na mBan in Limerick. Her father was a Fenian as was her uncle John Daly. Her brother Ned Daly was executed for his part in the Easter 1916 Rising. Her sister, Kathleen, was married to Tom Clarke, who was also executed for the 1916 Rising.
Agnes never married. During the War of Independence she was attacked by a gang of Black and Tans; her hair was cut off, and her hand split with a knife, almost severing her thumb. The man responsible for the knife attack was sent out of Limerick the next day.
Agnes was a very straight, direct-speaking woman. She worked in the Bakery for many years and was the chief housekeeper at home.
