On Saturday, October 14th, 2017 another special angel went to heaven. John Thomas Poole, Sr, age 73, of Winfield, passed away at the Dove House in Westminster. Born June 7, 1944, in Winfield, MD, he was the son of the late Maurice T. Poole and Mary Duvall Poole. He was the husband of Dorothy Poole for 51 years.
Johnnie was retired from W.W. Will where he had worked as a Butcher for 25 years. He also did seasonal work with John Mays. He enjoyed collecting eagles, traveling and mowing his grass with his John Deere tractor, Lou Lou. He also loved working in his garden planting flowers and roses. Johnnie enjoyed laughing with others and gave nicknames to everyone that he met. He loved spending time with his family and his Grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, Nathan and Brianna, who was the apple of his eye.
Surviving him in addition to his wife is his son John T, Jr and wife Michelle Poole of Gulf Breeze, FL and daughter Tammy E. and husband Robert “Mo” Farver, of Winfield; Siblings; Hallie Martin of Thurmont, Ethel and husband Howard Morrison of PA, Ernest and wife Georgia Poole of Westminster, Catherine Reaver of Sykesville, Wanda Smith and Companion Aldo Baldwin of West Friendship, Evelyn “Maggie” and Arch Muller of Westminster. Grandchildren, Matthew and Morgan Alder and Nathan and Brianna Poole. He is also remembered by his caregiver Chris and Blessing Ibeme. He was predeceased by Sisters, Virginia “Sissy” Will and Doris Sprague; brothers Charles “Sam” Poole, Robert “Bobby” Poole, William “Billy” Poole and Maurice “Buddy” Poole.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM; where Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Arthur Monroe officiating.
