Maurice Edgar Poole, Sr. ,age 79, of Woodbine, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016, at home. Born April 13, 1937, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Maurice T. Poole and Mary Virginia Duvall Poole. He was the husband of the late Rose Marie Edmondson Poole. Maurice was retired from Springfield Hospital Center where he had worked as a maintenance mechanic. He enjoyed hot rods, mechanic work, riding his trike and music, including listening to his son-in-law's band. He especially enjoyed his dog, "Sweet Pea". He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Maurice E., Jr. and Debbie Poole of New Windsor and Gary W. and Betty Poole of Sykesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda M. and Richard Hardin of Woodbine, Hope A. and Mike Harrison of New Windsor and Kim L. and Brian Lowman of Woodbine; brothers, John and Ernie Poole and sisters, Hallie Martin, Ethel Morrison, Wanda Smith, Evelyn Muller and Catherine Reaver. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Suzanne Hardin and siblings, Doris Sprague, Virginia Will, Robert Poole, Samuel Poole, Sr. and William Poole. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016, at 1pm. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
