By 1930, Gertrude was married to Robert Ray Kennamer, and there were three sons in the home. They lived in New Hope, Madison County, Alabama. By 1940, the family was living in Woodville, Jackson County, Alabama and had grown with three additional children. The obituary for James, the oldest son, in 2000, lists additional children also.
Gertrude died August 27, 1974 at the age of 68 years, in Palm Beach, Florida, where the Kennamers had made their home sometime after the 1940s. Her husband died in West Palm Beach, Florida on October 21, 1989 at the age of 86.
The name Kennamer is spelled Kennemer in some Florida records.
Burial sites have not been located for either Gertrude or Robert.
