Edith Mildred Sullivan, 98 of Hemet, CA, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Pacifica Senior Living in Hemet, CA .

She was born Friday, June 6, 1919 in Livingston, TN and moved to Anderson, IN in 1935 after marriage to Claude, aka Tex, and then to California in 1953. She was an entrepreneur and worked with Tex in various industries for 30 years.

Edith was a talented homemaker who loved to cook and bake, and she was an exceptional seamstress. She made the drapes and other items for their home as well as for apartment buildings she and Claude would renovate.

She was a wonderful life partner to Claude and was very family-oriented. She was loving, caring and was a team player within the family. Edith was also an independent thinker who would get passionate about issues she cared about, earning her the nickname of the "white tornado."

Surviving are sons, Roger Sullivan and Ron Sullivan and sister, Betty Sue Ledbetter, grandsons Scott Sullivan, Shawn Sullivan and Cory Sullivan and granddaughter Tracy Sullivan, great granddaughters Kaya Sullivan, Elle Rose Sullivan and Mary Beth Sullivan, great grandsons, Jack Bradshaw and Max Bradshaw.

Edith is preceded by husband, Claude “Tex” Sullivan, brothers, Pete Ashburn, Ernest Ashburn and Lewis Ashburn, and sisters, Magdeline Miller and Roselle Newberry.

Interment will be at Anderson Memorial Park in Anderson, IN.
