Services for Dessie Mae West McCravey, 79, of Floydada were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 1992, in the New Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Floydada with Elder George Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Lakeview Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. McCravey died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, 1992 at her residence following a lengthy illness. Justice of the Peace Tim Burge ruled natural causes in the death.

She was born Aug. 1, 1913, in Wilbarger County, Texas and married R. B. McCravey Feb. 27, 1932 in Crosbyton. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1990.

She was a homemaker and a member of the New Salem Primitive Baptist Church.

She formerly had worked for Lynch's Dept. Store in Ralls and for Post Tex Mills in Post. She lived in Floydada from 1932 until 1960 when she moved to Post. She moved from Post to Ralls July 4, 1964, then to Floydada on Nov. 26, 1991.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Lee McCravey who died in 1982 and a sister, Mary Neff who died in 1991.

Survivors include on son, Ronnie McCravey of Jal, N.M.; two daughters, Joy Finley of Brownwood and Sherron McCravey of Floydada; three brothers Arvin West and Adrian West of Floydada and S. L. West of Sulphur, Okla.; two sister, LaVade Neff and Leona Neff, both of Floydada; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one aunt, Notie Bell Fawver of Floydada.

Pallbearers were Wes Campbell, Harold Morrison, Clayton Sellers, Bruce Sellers, Jerry Galloway and Billy Bounds.
