Elwood Dennett, 69, of Provo, died Monday, September 6, 1976 in Utah Valley Hospital after a heart attack. Funeral services will be Thursday in the Provo Park Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
Mr. Dennett was born March 9, 1907 in St. George, a son of John Fabin and Malinda Hepworth Dennett. He married Nettie Hardy on December 10, 1929 in St. George, and they were later divorced.
Mr. Dennett was educated in Springdale, Washington County, and worked on the construction of facilities in Zions Park. For the past 40 years he had lived in Provo, working for 20 years for Pacific States Pipe Co., and for the past 15 years for the Brigham Young University Bookstore.
Mr. Dennett was active in the LDS Church and at the time of his death was a high priest in the Park Ward.
Survivors include one son and four daughters: John Elwood Dennett, California; Mrs. James (Karen) Tripp, Haldenville, Massachusetts; Mrs. John (Elaine) Whitman, Magna; Mrs. George (Marilyn) Hall, Lansdale, Pennsylvania; Mrs. James (Ann) Kurlic, Citrus Heights, California; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, two brothers and six sisters: Mrs. Wes (Maggie) Justet, Tooele; Verdell Dennett, Cannonville, Garfield County; Mrs. LaVeta Sander and Mrs. Howard (Marie) Horsley, both of Las Vegas; Mrs. Jennie Buckley, Gardenia, California; Mrs. Marvell (Nellie) Prescott, Lawndale, California; Stewart Dennett, Grandlake, Colorado; and Mrs. Miriam Cope, Salt Lake City.
