Josephine Lay Hall, 88 years 11 months and 23 days of age, of Greenwood, Indiana, departed this life at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, October 2nd, 2017 at the Franciscan Hospice House with her loving family by her side.
Josephine was born on Wednesday, October 10th, 1928, daughter of the late Walter and Zula Woodall Lay.
Josephine was survived by one brother, Clarence “Pete” Woodall of Shelbyville, Indiana; one sister, Shirley Bailey of Shelbyville, Indiana; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lay, who departed this life on May 18th, 1946 and Zula Lay, who departed this life on September 18th, 1972; her loving husband, Harold C. Hall, who departed this life on July 6th, 1974; four brothers, Walter “Ed” Lay, Bill Lay, Henry Lay, and Carl Woodall; and three sisters, Francis Loveless, Linda Sue Girdler, and Syble Marie West.
Visitations were held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at the Murphy-Parks Funeral Service in Shelbyville.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Murphy-Parks Funeral Service.
Burial followed in the Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County.
