Preceded in death in 2002 by his wife of 58 years, Loretta, whom he had married on February 9, 1944. They both served as Sergeants during World War II. They were avid bowlers and nature lovers, particularly flowers, birds and squirrels.
He retired in 1975 after a career with the Federal Aviation Agency as a respected electronic equipment specialist.
