Born February 19, 1943 in Montezuma, Indiana to Harley Wilford Sr., and Lowesa Alberta (Chase) Beck, he married Sandra Kay McGrady on May 3, 1968 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dorothy K. Wheeler and Jamie M. (Mike) Reynolds, both of Pekin; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; twin sister, Jane (Kenny) Doolin of Atlanta, Illinois; two brothers, Chuck (Carol) Beck of Kissee Mills, Missouri and Art (Phyllis) Beck of Forsyth, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son (Michael R. Haynes on June 17, 1979), five sisters, and two brothers.
Jim worked for Excel Brass in Pekin for many years in the foundry, last working in 1987.
He was a member of Bible Methodist Church in Peoria Heights.
Jim enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Saint Louis Cardinals baseball fan. In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and mushrooming.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Brother Thomas Hooper will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
