Norma Louise Rankin, 88, of Urbana passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Amber Glen Care Center in Urbana, Illinois.

Mrs. Rankin was born on March 2, 1929 in Lincoln, Illinois, the youngest of three children of Elmer and Alma Gehlbach. She married Harold Eugene (Gene) Rankin. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rankin is survived by her son, John (Sandra) Rankin; a daughter, Nancy (Lawrence) Jeckel; two grandsons, Benjamin (Laura) Jeckel and Christopher Jeckel and three great-grandsons, Tate Jeckel, Owen Jeckel and Aidan Bauer.

Mrs. Rankin was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister, Vernon Gehlbach and Doris Howell and a grandson, John A. Rankin.

Mrs. Rankin was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the St. Luke's School of Nursing in Chicago. She was a longtime resident of Champaign/Urbana.
