Mrs. Claudine Turner, age 69, of Quitman, died Tuesday, May 28, 1991, in the Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston, after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, in the Buck Edmonds Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro. Rev. Leon Wallace, and Rev. Bill Mills conducted the services.
Burial was in the Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Mrs. Turner was a native of Arcadia, but had been a longtime resident of Jackson Parish. She was a retired seamstress, had worked for a cleaning business, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle.
Survivors include her husband, John Thomas Turner of Quitman; one son, Maurice Turner of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Prest of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mrs. Marilyn Salter of West Monroe; one brother, J. S. Pyles of Sellersburg, Indiana; two sisters, Mrs. Martiel Gray of Abilene Texas and Mrs. Cascile Gray of Wiley, Texas; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Turner, Tom Brown, Richard Vail, Charlie Pyles, Jimmy Pyles and Gary Turner. Honorary pallbearers were George Moore and Neil Lowe.
