Alma Jean Cornett, 78, of Lamesa, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Medical Arts Hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, at First Baptist Church in Lamesa with Rev. Nathan McBride and Rev. Clifton Igo officiating. Burial followed at Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home of Lamesa.
Cornett was born June 11, 1925 in Clinton, Tenn. and married Henry Cornett April 5, 1944, in San Diego, Calif. She managed the Sears store in Lamesa for 28 years and was a 58-year member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Sue King of Sweetwater, Joan Paske of Lamesa and Judy Ann Beam of Lubbock; one sister, Helen Gilliam of Clinton, Tenn.; one brother, Earl York of Gainsville, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 25, 1995; and one grandson, Hugh Allen King in 1986.
