Helen York Gilliam of South Clinton, was born on December 14, 1920 and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 26, 2015.
She loved and served the Lord throughout her life and loved her church, Second Baptist Church of Clinton. She was a Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years and loved the Ladies Class.
She owned and operated the Beauty Boutique Salon in South Clinton for more than 30 years and loved being a successful business owner serving her customers. She loved reading, studying the Bible and working in her yard, John 14 is a favorite scripture.
She loved the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength and was a Bible scholar and prayer warrior. She was very proud of her children and her grandsons.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles T Gilliam; her parents, Riley and Tempa York; 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three children and their families: Bob and Cindy Gilliam of Clinton, Susan (Gilliam) and Frank Hoffmann of West Monroe, LA and Bill and Joanne Gilliam of Russellville, KY.
Grandchildren and families are: Matthew and Tara Hoffmann, Drew and Whitney Hoffmann all of Baton Rouge LA, Andrew Gilliam of Bowling Green, KY and. Xen Gilliam of Clinton. Great-grandchildren are: Hutson Thomas Hoffmann and Foster Andrew Hoffmann. In addition, there are numerous nieces and their families.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 29th from 10-11 AM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow. Family and friends will then proceed to Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton for interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Second Baptist Church, Clinton, TN. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
