Mrs. Rebecca Herndon (Becky) Cook, age 81, of Atlanta, passed away August 2, 2017. Mrs. Cook was a native of Atlanta graduating from Grady High School in 1953. As a young woman, she sang soprano with the Baptist Tabernacle choir. She was a member of Peachtree Christian Church and served as Treasurer of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a member of the Fielding Lewis NSDAR in Marietta, the Order of Eastern Star in Smyrna, past president of State Mothers' Club Order of DeMolay, past state Mother Advisor for International Order of Rainbow for Girls.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert S. (Bob) Cook; sisters, Joyce Schuman, Katherine Long; brother, Carroll Herndon, who was killed in WWII.
Survived by her children: a daughter; a son; 2 grandchildren; and one sister; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Sunday August 6 at 4 PM at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Jarrod Longbons officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 2 until 4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
