A Good Woman Dead.
Mrs. Elinor Elizabeth Chandler died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. N. Swiber, near Avondale, in this county, at 4:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 1911. The funeral was conducted by Rev. P. A. Eubank at the home at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The burial was in the Crowley burying ground near Randolph. Many friends and neighbors were present to participate in the last sad rites of respect and love.
Mrs. Chandler was a native of Seymour, Canada, where she was born March 4, 1840. She was the daughter of Ezra and Sarah Tillotson. She removed with her parents in early life to Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. She later removed to Iowa, where she was married to Levi Chandler Nov. 30, 1860. She was the mother of eight children, six of whom were present to minister to her in her last illness, and to lay the beloved form to rest.
Mrs. Chandler had been a Christian for many years, a member of the Methodist church, which she joined in Arkansas.
Her faithful Christian life and her loving motherly care have left a host of memories, which her children will ever cherish. How precious are those blessed memories left by our loved ones!
She will be sorely missed by her loved ones, but they have the consolation of a blessed faith.
Friend.
