One of Texas County's oldest citizens died Dec. 19 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. (date written on clipping 1966)
She was Mrs. Nevada Smallwood, 91 years old.
She was born in Licking Jan. 16, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shipp.

She was united in marriage Aug. 20, 1902 to Joe Smallwood at Raymondville and lived most of her life in that community.
Mrs. Smallwood is survived by one son, Rufus, of Rolla; three grand
children and two great-grandchildren.
She was a long-time member of the Methodist Church and was widely known.
Funeral services were conducted Dec. 21 at the Raymondville Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald Shipp officiating. Burial was in Allen Cemetery under direction of Evans-Elliott.
