A daughter of the late John and Stella Stewart Clutter, Eva was born in Columbiana on March 31, 1932.
Earlier, she had worked at Metsch Refractories in Chester and she retired from Homer Laughlin China Company in Newell.
Eva was a faithful member of the Virginia Ave. Church of Christ in Chester and she participated and enjoyed all of the church activities. Also she loved to fish and camp with her loving and dedicated husband of 23 years, David Stefl. Eva loved to send get well cards, call the sick and shut-ins, and help anyone in need. She especially loved visiting and talking with her special family member, Helen Clutter.
In addition to her husband, David, Eva leaves many loving nieces and nephews, her daughters-in-law, Connie Goppert of New Waterford, and Chris Goppert of Chester, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 27 years, Eugene Goppert; three sons, James, Eugene, and David Goppert; and her siblings, Earl, Ed, Richard, and Gerald Clutter, and Evelyn Brewer, and Anna Howell.
The family wishes to thank the Southern Care Hospice for the warm and compassionate care shown to Eva during her last days.
Evangelist Ricco Brown will conduct services on Thursday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, where friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Following the Thursday services, she will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park in Calcutta.
