Mrs. Sophia M. Furst, mother of Frederick Furst, musical director of the Cathedral and of Frank and Joseph Furst, of the J.H. Furst Company, printers, died at 11:10 o'clock last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Perrin, 204 East Lafayette avenue. Death followed a stroke of paralysis on Saturday, before which Mrs. Furst, in spite of her age, had enjoyed excellent health.

Mrs. Furst was a native of Baltimore and was the widow of Joseph Furst, builder and contractor. In her youth she was well known as a singer, having sung 50 years ago in the choir of Old St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Barre street. Besides her three sons and daughter who live in Baltimore, she is survived by William Furst, of New York, musical composer, and Charles Furts, of Chicago.
