Ninabelle “Nina” Houseknecht, of Williamsport, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Rose View Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren C. Houseknecht Sr. in 1972.
She was a daughter of the late Clyde and Helen (Moon) Ohnmeiss.
Nina was a graduate of Williamsport High School. She worked for the former GTE Sylvania, Carry McFalls, Leader Nursing Center and retired from Happy Wash Laundry.
She loved to cook, bake, knit and sew. She enjoyed going to Mohegan Sun Casino and playing the slot machines. She also enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets that she called “scratchies!”
Surviving are two sons, Wayne C. Houseknecht Sr. (Beverly), of Williamsport and Max R. Houseknecht (Angie), of South Williamsport; a daughter, Donna M. Fry, of Trout Run; ten grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Vivian Bastian, of New York; a daughter-in-law, Mary Houseknecht, of Williamsport; and a son-in-law, Mike Overdorf, of Loganton.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Warren C. Houseknecht Jr.; a daughter, Kathy R. Overdorf; a grandson, Michael Houseknecht; 9 brothers and sisters; and a son-in-law, Lester Fry.
A graveside service to honor the life of Ninabelle will be held private at the convenience of the family in Montoursville Cemetery.
