20 Feb 2007: Lewis H. Aldinger Sr. 77, died February 18, 2007, at York Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of Nadine B. (Luckenbaugh) Aldinger, with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage this past October 11. Funeral Wednesday at St. Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Church, York New Salem, his pastor, Rev. Lisa Hair officiating. Burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Aldinger was born March 28, 1929, in York Township, a son of the late Malcolm S. and Blanche P. (Gettys) Aldinger. He was employed as a forklift operator with the former Certain-Teed Roof Company for over 37 ½ years retiring in 1981. Mr. Aldinger was a 50 year member of St. Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Church, York New Salem. He also leaves daughters Sherry L. Palmer of Crane, MS, Kathy R. Krout of Seven Valleys, and Verjean E. Jumper of Columbus, GA; sons Donald S. Aldinger of Glen Rock, Lewis H. Aldinger Jr., of York, and Morgan G. Aldinger of Dallastown; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers Edwin J. Aldinger of York, and Melvin G. Aldinger of Seven Valleys. He was preceded in death by his son James E. "Jake" Aldinger who passed away on October 17, 2006; grandson Steven D. Lentz; brother Leonard J. Aldinger; and sister Betty L. Aldinger. [York Daily Record]
