"Ethelbert McGilvray II, 86, lived most of his life in the Council Bluffs area. He was employed as a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad and had retired in 1977 after 35 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, the Union Pacific Employees Club No. 3, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the Scottish Society of Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth; daughters Lily Hedrick of Council Bluffs and Marietta Shaw of Sun City, AZ.; sons Jeffrey of Crescent and Ethelbert III of Sun City; sisters Jean Coelho and Doris Hansen; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Cutler Funeral Home is in charge with Rev. Robert Boseck officiating. "
