Bonham- Funeral services for Barry Edward Caylor, age 82 of Ravenna, TX will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel Bonham, TX. Rev. Craig Vance will officiate. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. Family visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.

Barry Edward Caylor was born August 18, 1934 to William Lester Caylor and Alice Rosalee (Martin) Caylor in Fannin County. He was the last of eight children. Mr. Caylor passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX.

Barry graduated from Bonham High School in 1952, and moved to Dallas to begin his work life. He worked for Dallas Power & Light Company (later to become Texas Utilities and TXU) for almost 40 years in the customer service area before retiring in 1992.

He met his wife, Violet (Haggard) Caylor, while working at the Light Company, and they married on April 27, 1963. While living in Dallas, they were members of Bethany Baptist Church were Barry was ordained as a deacon in 1977. He also taught Sunday school and served in many other capacities.

In 1998, they retired to the farm where Barry grew up and the place he loved best. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping on the river, and raising a garden which he shared with everyone. He was a member and deacon at Sandy Baptist Church in Ravenna where he served as Sunday School Director, a Sunday School Teacher and served on the Building and Grounds Committee and Activities Committee.

Barry is survived by his wife, Violet Caylor of Ravenna; his daughters, Dana (Caylor) Pena and husband Bobby of Forney and Robyn (Caylor) Hardison and husband Paul of Keller; grandchildren, Colt Pena, Caylor Pena, Brock Hardison, Luke Hardison, and Drake Hardison. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Betty Caylor, Alice Caylor, Wanda Haggard, and Jewel Wolfe and husband Bill. Barry was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Eldridge Bruce and wife Morene, W.L. (Dub), Duane and wife Helen, Howard and Bill; sister, Aurelia Hall and husband Jack, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was the best son, brother, husband, daddy and Papa that any family could hope for, and he will be dearly missed.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Caylor, Jerry Caylor, David Caylor, Ricky Caylor, Bruce Caylor, Jr., and Byron Caylor, Jr.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Casey, Ronnie Burnett, Blanton Haynes, and Joe Walker.
