Sue Shepherd, 80, of Hixson, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
Sue was born in Fayette, AL on April 20, 1937 to the late William and Roberta Babb. She married James in 1953 and they raised 3 children living in Davenport, Iowa for 46 years.
She sold Stanley Products for 50 years, volunteered in Nursing Homes for 40 years and was a member of The Ministry Center. She was actively involved in Ladies Ministries and taught Sunday School within the Church of God for many years.
They moved to Hixson, TN in 2000, where she most enjoyed spending time with family, church, and traveling the world on cruises.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James; her brothers, Herbert and LaVerne Babb and her sisters, Billie Carey and Nell Babb.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Longobardi (Gene) of Hixson, Patricia Flaherty (Pat) of Moline, IL; son, Philip Shepherd (Kim) of Hixson, Grandchildren, Katrina (Eric), Brandon, Aimee (Ryan), Jake (Meghan) and Sydney; Great Grand-Children, Isabella, Amelia, Sophia, Lily, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 30, at 6 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Milligan and Rev. Jimmy Talley officiating. Interment will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, from 4-6 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Rd.
