Melvin George Brown, 79, passed away May 3, 2006, at his residence in Ormond Beach.
A Navy veteran (Enlisted at age 17) serving in World War II on the USS Bronx 2446, he was a former resident of Dayton, Ohio, where he was employed by Dayton Ohio Power and Lighting Company. He also served as a volunteer firefighter and worked as a Beavercreek Police Officer.
He and his family moved to the Ormond Beach area in 1984, where he enjoyed the company of his family, friends, NASCAR and fishing.
