Richard Lavern Brown, 51, died Tuesday at University Hospital, Iowa City. He had been street superintendent for the city of Manchester for the past 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, Richard of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Carina Lee Gonzales of Howard Air Force Base, Panama; six brothers, Jim of Marion, Duane and Melvin, both of Florida, Ray of Lamont, and Lloyd and Harland, both of Manchester; and three sisters, Laura Felderman and Vi Irons, both of Manchester, and Maxine Wessels of Lamont. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church. Burial: Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at Vernons.
