Lloyd survived near fatal injuries during World War II with the U.S. Marines during the Battle of Okinawa.

Lloyd Alfred "Soft Touch" Brown,71, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 1996, in Delaware County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home, Manchester, where friends may call after 4 p.m. today. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, with military rites. The Rev. ellis andrews will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a daughter, Sandra, and two sons, David and Kevin, all of Manchester; four brothers, James of Marion, Duane of Pompano Beach, Fla., Melvin of Florida and Harland of Manchester; and three sisters, Laura Felderman and Viola Irons, both of Manchester, and Maxine Wessels of Lamont.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary; and two brothers, Richard and Raymond.

Born June 25, 1925, in Manchester, to Edward and Lorahamah Hansel Brown, he married Marilyn Babette Blakeslee on June 15, 1946, in Dubuque.

Lloyd served in the Marines during World War II. He was a member of VFW, Manchester American Legion and had previously belonged to the Eagles Club.

Military rites will be conducted by Manchester American Legion Post 45.
