Former Montgomery County Sheriff Charles Edward Stewart.

Son of Cecil and Ida Stewart.
Married Josephine Belle Day May 25, 1946. She preceded him in death.
Married Patricia Spinks March 24, 2011. She survives.
Also surviving are children Donna (Robert) Shirar, Darlene (Ed) Hamer, Nancy (Richard) Stonebraker, Charles (Arlene) Stewart and Peggy (Ralph) Knepper; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, 4 sisters and daughter Karen Selby.

He worked on the railroad early in life.

Joined the U.S. Army at 18. He served as staff sergeant for the engineering division for General George Patton. He entered World War II in 1942, went through five countries and ended his service after the Battle of the Bulge in 1944.

Worked on the railroad before joining the Army. Later worked at Allisons in Indianapolis, owned three businesses in Waveland, was Town Marshall of Waveland and served as sheriff of Montgomery County for two terms.

He moved to Oklawaha, Florida in 1983.

His hobbies were making furniture, fishing, and gardening.

He was a member of the Central Christian Church, World War II Veterans of USA, VFW, and Blinded Veterans Association.
