Margie Nell Chargois, age 88, went to Glory on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

Margie was born on October 2, 1928 in Lott, Texas. She moved to Vinton in 1954 where she raised her family.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a loyal and dear friend. Margie was a long time and active member of First Baptist Church of Vinton. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, canning, and was known for baking her famous pound cake and homemade bread. She was also known for her wonderful hospitality.

Survivors include her grandson, Chad Perkins(Anna); granddaughter, Kecia Bauman; great-granddaughter, Jillian Bauman; brothers, Donald Blakley; James L. Blakley; Bobby Blakley; brothers-in-law, Arthur Wimpee and Wilber Rice; dearest friends, Linda Mott and Leanne Phillips; special niece, Kathleen Chambers; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Garrell Perkins, husbands, Edison Perkins and Ford Chargois, parents, Otice and Mattie Blakley, sisters, Dolan McGaughey and Doris Wimpee, and a brother, Tommy Blakley.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Vinton. Reverend Bobby Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow in Nibletts Bluff Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday and will resume at 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Monday at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton.
