Ora Ann Rice passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the age of 78 years. She was born on July 23, 1935, in Rosebud, Texas, and on August 2, 1957, she married Wilbur Howard Rice.
Ann is survived by her husband, Wilbur Rice; son, David Rice, daughter, Karen Fillingame and her husband Steve; granddaughter, Shelby; grandson, Garrett; sister, Margie Chargois; brothers, Donald Blakley and his wife Martha, Bobby Blakley, and James Lee Blakely and his wife Norma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Dolan McGuaghey,Tommy Blakley, and Doris Wimpee.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Thomas officiating. A private burial will be held at Katy Magnolia Cemetery.
