A pipe fitter with Volks Construction Co. and a resident of Port Allen, he died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 55 and a native of Plaquemine. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Joe Alain. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Survived by his wife, Rita Hebert Allen, Port Allen; two daughters and a son-in-law, Vicki LeBlanc, Baton Rouge, and Tonya and Adrian Genre, Port Allen; two sisters, Julia Simoneaux, Port Allen, and Louana Persilver, Plaquemine; two brothers, David Allen, Baton Rouge, and Michael Allen, Destrehan; and four grandchildren, Chad and Cory LeBlanc, both of Baton Rouge, and Adam and Abigail Genre, both of Port Allen. Preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Florence Curry Allen; and a sister, Sylvia Allen. Pallbearers will be J.E. Sharon, J.D. Alford, Earl Willis, Steve Landry, James Tempelton and Chad Prejean. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Allen. Special thanks to Dr. Deborah A. Abernathy and Dr. Sheldon Johnson.
