Thomas, a Deaf son of Major Thomas Bolling attended the Braidwood Academy for the Deaf in Edinburgh, Scotland circa 1775 with his Deaf sister, Mary. Both joined their Deaf older sibling, John who attended in 1761. Thomas later taught at Braidwood Institute for the Deaf near Petersburg, Virginia assisting John Braidwood. Thomas was also considered as first deaf teacher in America. Primary language: old British Signs. Thomas passed away in 1836 at the Bernard residence, formerly known as Gay Mont, now as Rose Hill in Caroline County, Virginia. Burial grounds is unknown. According to Thomas' brother, Colonel William Bolling, he was not around the family for a while and lived in Richmond City. When he got ill, he was moved to Bernard's home and died there.
