John Bolling, a deaf son of Major Thomas Bolling attended the Braidwood Academy for the Deaf in Edinburg, Scotland circa 1771. Later, John's two deaf siblings, Thomas and Mary attended in 1775. John returned to America and became sick. He succumbed to illness not long after, around three months later in 1783. He is buried among others on old Cobbs property (marker: Cobbs Hall), Chesterfield County, VA. The grave is unmarked due to tombstones destroyed after possibly Civil War along with other 35 unmarked graves.
