FRANKLINVILLE - Marilyn V. Bednarski, formerly of Rushford Road and the Absolut of Houghton, died Friday (March 24, 2017) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born Oct. 13, 1933, in Farmersville, she was the daughter of Morris and Margaret Norton Hooper. On Feb. 7, 1953, in Franklinville, she married Edward S. Bednarski, who died Aug. 22, 1994.
Marilyn owned and operated a dairy farm along with her late husband, and was employed for 17 years at Motorola in Arcade. She was also a licensed real estate agent and was a Avon representative for 10 years.
Mrs. Bednarski enjoyed walking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, dancing, traveling and was a member of the Stitch N' Time Club of Franklinville.
Surviving are two sons, Rick Bednarski of Franklinville and Mark (Susie) Bednarski of Little Valley; a daughter, Lori Phillips of Lakeland, Fla.; two grandsons, Shawn Phillips and Andrew Bednarski; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Neva (Joe) Boysha of Franklinville.
She was predeceased by a daughter, DeAnne Gates; a sister, Maureen Cottrill; a brother, Duanne Hooper; and a loving companion, Fred Lafferty.
Burial will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville.
