1932-2013 Maureen Hooper Cottrill of Daytona Beach, passed away peacefully
at the Port Orange Hospice Facility on February 9, 2013 at the age of 80. She was born in the small town of Farmersville Station of Arcade, N.Y. on August 10, 1932. Marueen married William P. Cottrill on May 21, 1955 in Arcade, N.Y. William was career U.S. Navy and Maureen accompanied him overseas and to state side duty stations. Maureen worked at Sears for 17 years. After retirement, they traveled extensively and spent their summers in Western New York. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Margaret Hooper, and her granddaughter, Kara Maday. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William; daughters, Heather Heal of York, PA, and Lorna Cottrill-Maday of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and a son, Roy Cottrill of Daytona Beach, FL. Grandchildren are Steven Heal of Wheat Ridge, CO, and Raya Maday of New Smyrna Beach, FL; sister, Marilyn Bednarski of Franklinville, N.Y.; and brother, Duane Hooper of Farmersville Station, N.Y. Maureen wanted to be remembered as the loving and caring wife, mother, and the best grandmother ever. There will not be a service in Florida; however, a celebration of life will be held this coming summer at Crystal Lake, N.Y. In lieu of flowers and/or donations, remember to "Love the one you're near, when you're near the one you love."
