Mary Virginia Bowman, 89, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at her residence. She was born on November 28, 1927 in Salem, Indiana, the daughter of the late Francis Babbs and Millie (England) Babbs. Mary was a homemaker. She was married on Oct. 26, 1944 to Jesse Bowman, who passed away on April 10, 1974. In addition to her husband,Mary was preceded in death by two sons, Randall and Marvin Bowman; four brothers, Marion, Jim, William and Lawrence Babbs; two sisters, Blanche Nichols and Lori Atkins and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Survivors include nine sons, Ernest (Brenda) Bowman and Frank (Nancy) Bowman all of Crothersville, Indiana, Jesse Bowman of Scottsburg, Indiana, William (Jenny) Bowman and Jimmy (Carolyn) Bowman all of Brownstown, Indiana, Steve R. (Mary) Bowman, Stanley (Kim) Bowman and Tony (Amy) Bowman all of Little York, Indiana and Gary (Patty) Bowman of Medora, Indiana; five daughters, Norma (David) Gorbett of Medora, Indiana, Lorene Bowman, Barbie (Cecil) Holland and Susie (David) Riley all of Seymour, Indiana and Rosie Bowman of Salem, Indiana; a sister, Gladys (Frank) Stephens of Salem, Indiana; numerous grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.
