Donnel Justin “Spiv” Doersam was born in Jenera, Hancock County, Ohio to Michael and Desda (Charlton) Doersam on May 25, 1905. He married Edna Irene Culbertson in Ashtabula, Ohio on December 22, 1927. To this union two children were born: Bette on April 16, 1928 and Justin D. on November 2, 1930.
Donnel was a Village and Rural Postal Carrier for the US Postal Service in Chardon, Ohio for 50 years, retiring on May 25, 1970. He and his wife, Irene then moved to Ada, Ohio where they have lived for the last 22 years.
Donnel died in Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio on February 16, 1998 at the age of 92.
He is survived by his wife; children; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin and Chet; and four sisters, Kathryn, Helen, Ethel and Betty. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by four brothers, Iven, Olan, Judson and Albert.
A private family service will be held. Arrangements are being handled by the Burr Funeral Home in Chardon, Ohio.
