Clarence Earl Keppley, Jr., 84, of Newmanstown, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Mary Lou Bordner Keppley with whom he was married to for 61 years.
He was born in Heidelberg Township, Lebanon County on October 22, 1932, a son of the late Clarence Earl Keppley, Sr. and Mary Catherine Buchter Keppley.
Clarence was employed for 41 ½ years with North American Refractories in Newmanstown and a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was an Auxiliary Police Officer for Millcreek Township and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Donald Keppley and wife Lori Weik Keppley of Stricklerstown; Catherine Heinsey and husband Glenn Heinsey of Myerstown; Brenda Buffenmyer wife of the late Lee Buffenmyer of Newmanstown; Clarence Keppley, III and wife Diane Reppert Keppley of Newmanstown; Linda Stricker and husband Darrell Stricker of Womelsdorf; Ann Hassler wife of Jessie Hassler of Newmanstown; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Bachert of Denver; Margaret Frankfort of Newmanstown; Stella Martzall of Newmanstown; Sally Weachter and husband Ralph of Newmanstown; Edith Martzall of Schaefferstown; brother, Henry Keppley and wife Carol of Newmanstown.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:30 AM in Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter Street, Schaefferstown with a viewing beginning on Saturday at 9:30 AM. Interment will be made in Millcreek Memorial Cemetery, Newmanstown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
