LaVerne Armstrong, 55, of Flower Mound, formerly a longtime Irving resident died Friday, January 18, 2000.
Mrs. Armstrong was born on November 1, 1941 in Wellington to Willis and Loraine Turner Minatrea.
"She was a humble, unassuming lady with all the class of a true southern belle. People start collections of many things. LaVerne collected friends," were some of the remarks made by friends.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Roy Armstrong; her mother, Loraine Minatrea; two daughters, LaCora McSwain and Thresia Rodgers, both of Irving; one son, John Armstrong, Irving; two brothers, Floyd Minatrea of Hernando and Alvin Minatrea of Garland; two sisters, Fredia Hartman and LaNell Doss; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1986 and two sisters, Linda Williams and Wanda Manuel.
