J. C. Woolfolk, 77, early day rancher and one of the best known men of this area, passed away Monday evening at his home here. Mr. Woolfolk had been ill about two months and for the past four weeks had been seriously ill.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church. Burial was beside the grave of Mr. Woolfolk s wife in the Albany Cemetery.

Mr. Woolfolk, a native Texan, was born at Weatherford July 2, 1878. When three years of age he went with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Woolfolk to young county , settling at old Fort Belknap, where Mr. Woolfolk was reared.

He went to Wyoming when a your man, and ranched there five of six years, then came to Albany in 1909, where he lived until his death. Mr. Woolfolk spent most of his life in the ranching business.

Lizzie Whiteley married J.C. Woolfolk on 5 February 1902 at Young County, Texas. She preceded him in death April 7, 1941.
He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Olney.

Mr. Woolfolk was one of Albany's most familiar men, and he had a host of friends throughout the area. He had always been interested in politics, local and national.
