Mitchell - A funeral for Reuben J. Lind, 70, longtime Mitchell resident, who died June 20, 1988, in his home, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church at Morrill with the Rev. Douglas Good officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery near Scottsbluff.
He was born Feb. 5, 1918, at Windsor, Colo. to John and Katherine (Stoll) Lind. He attended Windsor Schools. He came to Nebraska in 1941. In 1946 he began farming with his uncle, Philip Stoll. He married Maribelle Northcutt Nov. 12, 1944, at Scottsbluff. They farmed and fed cattle until he retired in 1983.
He was a charter member of the church and served as Elder and Trustee. He helped build the present church and was head usher for several years. He was honored as High Ten Grower for three years by Great Western Sugar Company and was High Station Grower for another four years.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Linda, Janet, Kathy, and Gloria; sisters, Katherine Ehlert of Longmont, CO, Leah Lebsack of Loveland, CO, Irene Dietz of Denver, CO, Mary Miller and Ruth Propp, both of Fort Collins, CO. and Wilma Winter of Ault, CO; brothers, Karl of Denver, CO, Ben of Greeley, CO, Albert of Fort Collins, CO, Paul of Akron, CO, Robert and Elmer, both of Windsor, CO, and Bill of Colorado Springs, CO; and 6 grandchildren.
