Edna M. Byrd, 95, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017, surrounded by her family, at Hawkeye Care Center, in Marshalltown.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery, in Marshalltown.
Edna was born September 16, 1921 to Alfred P. and Mabel C. (Quist) Lee, in Marshalltown. She graduated from Marshalltown High School. Edna was united in marriage to Wendell D. Byrd on June 27, 1941, in Marshalltown. She was a homemaker. Edna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and golf. The true joy of her life was spending time with her family.
Edna will be missed by three daughters; Carol (John Sr.) Winters, Julie (Jack) Miller, Vicki (Don) Meyer, all of Marshalltown, seven grandchildren; Andrea (Rick) Lee, Chad (Sue) Krantman, Valerie Krantman, Brett (Sarah) Miller, Ryan (Jacki) Miller, Allison Meyer, Jillian (Brian) Tuttle, one step grandson, John (Mechiele) Winters Jr., 15 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a special niece, Mary (Ed) Backoff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell, a sister, Mildred Berryhill, and a brother, Gilbert Lee.
