Wendell was born May 12th, 1920, to Sarah (Swafford) and Carl Byrd in Travel KS. Wendell was united in marriage to Edna M. Lee June 27, 1941 in Marshalltown Iowa. He was a manufacturers sales representative and retired as marketing director for the Embers in 2000. He served the United States in the Army AIr Corps.
Wendell enjoyed golf, gardening, feeding birds and was the family "fix it man". He was a member of the Frank Lewis Glick American Legion Post #46.
Wendell will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years Edna, his daughters; Carol (John Winters) Krantman, Julie (Jack) Miller, Vicki (Don) Meyer, his grandchildren; Jillian, Allison (Clay), Brett, Ryan (Jacki), Chad (Sue), Valerie (Brian), his great- grandchildren; Blake, Dane, Riley, Avery,Kelsey, Seth, Brealyn, Marissa, Tanner, Sara and Zach.
He joins his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters in eternal life.
