Albert Stratman, 63, of 1007 S. Carbon, Marion, died at 10:16 am Tuesday, December 7, 1976 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon from injuries received in a mine accident. He was born February 23, 1913 in Girard to Frederick and Wilhelmina Klein Stratman. He was married to Mertie Parks on March 15, 1943 in Cape Girardeau MO. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Drusilla Rix, Route 5, Marion; three sisters; Mrs. Elsie Lambert, Marion; Mrs. Alvina Miller, Sarasota FL; and Mrs. Mildred Engel, Evansville IN; brother Harry Stratman of Albuquerque NM. A sister, Minnie Mick preceded him in death.
He was a foreman for the Freeman No. 6 Coal Mine near Waltonville. He was an Air corps veteran of World War II and a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Services will be Friday at the Latter Day Saints church and burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mitchell Funeral Home, Marion is in charge of arrangements.
