Ashland, July 8- George W. Bailey, of Ashland, died at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks. He was 86 years old.
Mr. Bailey, a retired farmer, was born May 1, 1867, in Ashland township, the son of Abraham and Sarah Smith Bailey. On Dec. 27, 1893, he married Norah M. Baumgartner in Springfield. He was a member of Ashland Christian church.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Wyatt, and Lorena Bailey, both of Ashland; one brother Frank, Ashland; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Remains were removed to the Gainer funeral home in Ashland where friends may call until time of services at 2 p.m. Friday in the Ashland Christian church. Rev. Guy Harris will officiate. Burial will be Ashland cemetery.
