Ora Jack Barnes, 72, R.R.1, Greensburg, was killed about 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 1989 in an accident on Indiana 3, a mile north of the Rush-Decatur county line at Rush County 1000S, the victim of an automobile accident.

He was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Decatur County, the son of ora L. and Lucie Mae Michaels Barnes. He married Pauline Dunaway July 25, 1943, and she survives. He was a farmer, and a member of the Crossroads Community Church, Indianapolis, where he served as an elder. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael and Mark Dane Barnes, both of R.R.1, Greensburg; two brothers, Earl D. Barnes, Frankfort, Ind., and Roland C. Barnes, R.R.7, Greensburg; two sisters, Daisy Myers, R.R.4, Rushville, Ind., and Willa Marie Barnes, R.R.7, Greensburg; one granddaughter; one grandson; one step grandson and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother who died in infancy.

Pastor Tom Walker will conduct the services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Burns Funeral Home, Milroy, Ind.

Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery in Decatur County.

Visitation will be at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.

The family suggests that memorials go to the Gideon Society.
