1850 Census- Living with his parents in Strasburg, Lancaster Co., PA with his parents and two brothers, Amos and Elias.


Co B 76th Ohio.
Died at East Point, Ga., of diphtheria while serving in General Sherman's "March to the Sea". He was only 18 years old.

Sept 29, 1920 David's brother Elam located and visited David's grave. He wrote about it in his diary. He said, "...gathered fallen leaves from Brother's grave and placed a rose bush spray on the grave by the headstone.
No rumor of the Foe's advance,
Now swells upon the wind:
No troubled thought at midnight haunts
Of loved ones left behind."
