Martha married Isaac Whitworth on August 4, 1864 in Morris Township, Carroll County, Missouri. They were blessed with nine children.
She and Isaac lived in Ray County, until sometime after 1880 when they moved to Douglas County.
Isaac passed away in 1905 leaving Martha as a widow for seventeen years. She lived in a little log cabin and struggled to survive on her husbands Civil War pension of $30 a month,
Martha was a loving and kind hearted woman and raised three of her grandchildren after their parents died.
