Born December 31, 1916, in Graham County, Pima, Arizona, her married his wife, Carroll, March 11, 1916, in Paris, Texas. He was called to active duty in the United States Army on September 30, 1940. His service included being a member of 158th Combat Team Bushmaster, South Pacific in World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired on March 1, 1966. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Albany and a life member of the Disabled Americans Veterans, Chapter 198, Kingsland, Texas.
