Ben O. Horne, Sr. -MACON - Mr. Ben O. Horne, Sr., 87, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2005. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., Sunday, February 20, 2005 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at 2P.M. in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Reverend Ray Horne will be presiding. The family may be contacted at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the donor's favorite charity. -A native of Dodge County, Mr. Horne was a Pacific theatre World War II Army veteran and resident of Macon for over 60 years. Mr. Horne operated several businesses in Macon including Horne's Used Cars, The Grady Hotel and Coffee Shop, and the Montpelier Avenue Phillips 66 Convenience Store. -Mr. Horne was predeceased by a son, Herbie Horne and his wife, Christine (White) Horne. Survivors include his son, Ben O. Horne, Jr. of Macon; his daughter, Juan Driggers of Cochran; his brother, Charles Horne of Butler; two sisters, Ernestine Griffin of Jefferson, IN and Marie Parker of Escondido, CA; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. -Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
